The YOGAPL3Y Kids Instructor Training Course is designed for fitness leaders who want to learn how to lead playful yoga classes for kids at their local community centre, yoga studio, before/after-school program or through online virtual classes.
This On-Demand course offers you self-paced video coaching so that you can complete your training and become certified within 90 days (...or sooner, it's up to you! :)
COURSE DETAILS:
Your online learning experience will be hosted by Children's Yoga Expert and YOGAPL3Y Creator, Christina Aaron.
During your training, you will learn how to create a motivating and safe space where kids ages 6-12 can get playful and have fun as they develop physical literacy and positive mental health through yoga.
You'll develop instructing skills and learn effective strategies on how to teach kids yoga in a simple and playful way, using a combination of traditional yoga and our PLAYful & interACTIVE teaching approach.
You'll also learn how to follow our pre-made YOGAPL3Y Class Plans and deliver an effective yoga class that includes a balance between active movement and mindfulness activities. A class that develops physical literacy and fundamental movement skills, while fostering a playful and positive class environment.

PROGRAM CERTIFICATION:
Once you have completed the course, you will have the knowledge and skills to obtain certification status.
In order to qualify for the "Certified YOGAPL3Y Kids Instructor" title, you must submit a practicum assessment (via video) of yourself teaching a YOGAPL3Y class. In this video, you'll need to demonstrate that you are able to deliver a YOGAPL3Y class according to our internationally accredited program standards, following the class plan that will be given to you during your training (online video tutorials included).
Note: Once you are "Certified" in a PL3Y program, your certification status never expires.
If you want to teach our branded YOGAPL3Y Kids programs you must hold a license to use our methodology in your community/programs. Licenses are available through our PL3Y Instructor Membership where you'll get access to on-going choreography and program planning content.
Membership options start at $39/CAD month and we offer group discounts for if you teach multiple PL3Y programs, or are looking for discounted group rates for teams or larger organizations.

You do not need to have any specialized fitness qualifications in order to participate in a PL3Y Instructor Training Course. You simply need a passion and love for getting kids active through positivity and playfulness! We welcome people from all backgrounds, and our instructor community includes people from all over the world! Your Instructor Training Course will provide you with the foundations to deliver a high-quality physical literacy fitness class in a variety of different sectors. Proof of First Aid and CPR-C with AED along with a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check are required when you submit your practicum forms for Certification. Instructors who wish to deliver PL3Y Programs in the fitness sector must obtain the necessary insurance following their instructor training course.
PL3Y Inc. offers a program licensing for individual instructors and organizations starting at $397 CAD/year. Instructors can opt for monthly payments of their licensing fee starting at $39 CAD/month.
No, all YOGAPL3Y Instructors follow pre-made lesson plans and movement sequences. As a Certified Instructor you get access to class plans and multi-week units so that you can focus on promoting and teaching the programs instead of creating and planning.
No, you keep what you make! :) Instructors pay a flat annual licensing fee which allows you to more easily build a successful business – the sky's the limit!
The Online Database included in your annual licensing fee provides instructors with multi-week units, class plans and tutorial videos. The Database includes customizable marketing materials to help you promote your classes. You will also become part of a supportive community of PL3Y instructors. Our online community of instructors connect through an exclusive Facebook group and regular community gatherings, where they can swap ideas and successes with fellow instructors.
All PL3Y courses are approved for CECs through canfitpro, AFLCA, and BCRPA. YOGAPL3Y courses are also approved for continuing education credits with the Yoga Alliance.
After passing the practicum assessment and activating your individual instructor license you are authorized to teach in-person and livestream classes in your community. You can offer PL3Y classes for local recreation centres, before/after-school programs, dance/yoga studios and fitness gyms. If you are a school teacher you can use PL3Y programs with your students, but you are not licensed to teach your entire school unless you are a Certified PL3Y Education Instructor working for a PL3Y Education Region. You can also offer online classes. Note online classes must be offered through private livestream software such as Zoom.
Practicum assessment videos & documents are due within 6 months of course registration. Practicum assessment videos & Documents submitted after 6 months of course registration require a $50 CAD late submission fee.
Don't worry! If you do not meet the minimum standards for Certification, you can re-submit your videos a second time for re-assessment. We'll send you detailed feedback to guide you in the exact areas that you need to improve. You receive one complimentary re-assessment that must be submitted within 3 months of receiving your original feedback from your Master Trainer.
