The DANCEPL3Y Kids Online Instructor Training Course is designed for Recreation Leaders and Fitness Instructors who want to launch local classes to get kids active with dance.
During the online training, instructors will learn how to create a motivating and safe space where children ages 6-12 can get playful and have fun as they develop physical literacy through dance.
Course participants will develop skills and learn effective strategies on how to teach dance and in a simple way, using a combination of traditional formations and our interACTIVE teaching approach.
Instructors will gain an understanding on how to teach an effective dance-fitness class that develops physical literacy and fundamental movement skills, while fostering a playful and positive class environment.

Once you have completed your online course Part 1 and Part 2, you will have the knowledge and skills to become a Certified DANCEPL3Y Kids Program provider. In order to obtain full certification, you must submit a video of yourself teaching DANCEPL3Y to a group of children ages 6-12. Following your successful practicum assessment, you'll be eligible to become a licensed DANCEPL3Y Kids Instructor through our Engineers of Awesome Membership Program.

A certified trainer and instructor, Melanie holds a Masters of Education in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, a teaching degree in Health and Physical Education and an honors degree in Kinesiology. She has worked with organizations across the world to inspire leaders to foster more playfulness in their lives through innovative and fun physical activity programs, workshops, retreats and trainings.
